AeroShell Oil W100 Aircraft Engine Oil 1 Quart
Dependable lubrication and proven AeroShell quality for your aircraft engine. AeroShell Oil W100 is a premium mineral-based SAE 50 single-grade ashless dispersant oil developed for suitable certified four-stroke aircraft piston engines.
It combines reliable lubrication with additive technology designed to help control engine deposits and maintain internal cleanliness.
SAE 50 Single-Grade Oil for Moderate Climates
AeroShell W100 has an SAE 50 viscosity grade and is designed for moderate ambient temperatures.
According to Shell, its recommended ambient temperature range is approximately 16°C to 32°C.
Compared with the lower-viscosity AeroShell W80, W100 is particularly suitable for warmer operating conditions when approved by the engine manufacturer.
Always select the appropriate oil viscosity according to the applicable engine documentation.
Ashless Dispersant Technology
Aircraft piston engines generate combustion by-products and other contaminants during operation.
AeroShell W100 contains ashless dispersant additives that help keep these particles suspended in the oil and reduce unwanted deposit formation.
This supports engine cleanliness and dependable lubrication during normal operation.
Developed for Aircraft Piston Engines
AeroShell W-series oils are intended for suitable certified four-stroke reciprocating aircraft engines, including approved fuel-injected and turbocharged applications.
AeroShell W100 is a common oil choice for many Lycoming and Continental horizontally opposed engines, subject to the relevant engine manufacturer's recommendations.
It is not recommended for automotive engines.
AeroShell W100 Compared with W100 Plus
Both AeroShell W100 and W100 Plus are SAE 50 single-grade ashless dispersant aviation oils.
W100 is the conventional W-series formulation, while W100 Plus contains an enhanced additive package for additional wear and corrosion protection.
The correct product must always be selected according to the engine manufacturer's specifications.
Engine Maintenance and Oil Changes
Regular oil changes are an essential part of aircraft engine maintenance.
AeroShell W100 is suitable for oil changes and topping up in engines where its viscosity and specification are approved.
For newly manufactured or overhauled engines, the correct break-in oil must be determined from the applicable engine manufacturer's instructions.
